Why the game and the market belong together

A football market reprices on events — a goal, a red card, a penalty, the closing minutes — and those events happen faster than you can alt-tab to a scores site and back. By the time you've confirmed what changed, the price often already has. Keeping the live match data inside Desk, docked next to your ladder or chart, closes that gap: you see the cause and the price reaction in the same glance, and you're deciding rather than catching up.

Linking a match

Hit Stats and pick a football market. Desk auto-links the fixture for you, matching the market to the live game. If it can't find the fixture — an obscure competition, an oddly named market — use Link to search for a team and attach the match manually.

Once linked, the stats stay attached to that market, so you can leave and come back without re-linking.

The four tabs

Live data is organised into four views:

• Stats — live team stats: possession, shots, cards, corners and more, updating as the match plays.
• Events — the timeline, with goals, cards and substitutions appearing as they happen.
• Lineups — both teams laid out on a pitch, with their formations.
• Prediction — the model's read on the match, a quick outside view to weigh against your own.

Reading a match into your trade

In-play football markets move on what's actually happening on the pitch, and the stats tabs let you see it before the price fully adjusts:

• Momentum — a team piling up shots, corners and possession is applying pressure a scoreline hasn't caught up with yet.
• A red card — shows in the timeline the moment it happens; a side down to ten will often see its market reprice sharply, and you're watching the cause, not guessing at it.
• Chance quality — shots on target and sustained territory give an xG-style sense of who's threatening, beyond the raw score.
